blog 2

For my documentary, I chose to write about a community which I know very little about, however, I feel like I have been apart of it for the duration of my life. The community that I am addressing is the congregation of University Heights Church. I walked into the doors of the sanctuary last Sunday and quickly noticed that I was the only attendee under the age of 65. I was greeted instantaneously with warm smiles and firm handshakes. I intend to find out more about this community. I would like to know how I can potentially become a member of this congregation. I want to learn how to develop the traits to become of these community members that I already deeply respect. As of now, I don't have a deep relationship with this specific church but I have grown up going to a church much like this one. I am accustomed to waking up early on Sunday mornings, putting on a dress shirt, and making my way to a worship service. I choose to write about this community because it has become so familiar to me after only one week of attending. This community made my transition into college just a little bit easier. I am swept away with a sense of nostalgia and also of belonging when I enter the doors of University Heights Church.
