Getting my first artifact was a simple process. I stepped out of my dorm room door and took a picture straight down the hall way. One complication I thought I would encounter is people roaming the halls while I was trying to capture the picture. Because this was not an issue, it proves my main point of my topic. These solemn halls indicate the lack of relationships that circulate through the residence building. This is a period of time in which new relationships should be forming. Community is essential in order to establish bonds that could lead to the success of an individual within the community. Bonds between people are a necessary part of college life. Friendships promote encouragement and support. The old dorms on campus more effectively promote community. People go to the restrooms to wash their dishes or take a shower and may meet people in doing so. The new dorms are equipped with luxuries such as sinks and individual bathrooms, therefore, it is not necessary for people to leave their dorms nearly as often.
